The CMU checkoff effort is led by volunteer chair Major Ogilvie. Major Ogilvie is a lifelong resident of Birmingham, Ala., and a proud graduate of the University of Alabama at Tuscaloosa.
Major leads government relations and business development for CEMEX, one of the world’s top traders of cement. Previously, Major was the general manager of Block USA, one of the south’s leading producers of gray concrete masonry units.
Major has served as the chair of the concrete masonry checkoff since 2010, where he works closely with other industry leaders in the effort to implement a national concrete masonry checkoff.
